The case against the climate catastrophe prediction:
The Petition Project

There arrived in the mail memo from Frederick Seitz, past president of the US National Academy of Sciences, with a petition card from "The Petition Project" of La Jolla, California, urging the US government to reject the Kyoto accord of December 1997. This memo and petition claimed there is no evidence that human release of greenhouse gases causes global climate warming, citing a paper by Arthur B. Robinson, Noah E. Robinson, and Willie Soon, J. Amer. Physicians and Surgeons (2007) 12, 79-90. This paper argues that arctic air temperature correlates with sunspot cycles, and not with hydrocarbon use.
