MIMI and the Illuminati is a band of three people (Ami Radunskaya, Peter Broadwell, and Ralph Abraham) and three computers. Our first public performance was in the Fall of 1992. We show animated graphics on the video projector, real-time simulations of models from the current research frontier of chaos theory. Parameters of the simulation are in the hands of the artists. Aspects of the moving images control the signals to the synthesizers, again under control of the players (us) in turn under the influence (supposedly) of Ami's composition. All I can say is, we stare intently at her score on our monitors while playing.
We are working on a description of our first three pieces at Ami's place.
