Soroban Tutorials (YouTube videos)


Three tutorials for parents teaching children to count, using marbles to practice simple arithmetic. This extends the well-established arithmetic skills of babies
[see, eg, What Counts: How Every Brain is Hardwired for Math
by Brian Butterworth (1999); Chapter 3, Born to Count]
and is preliminary to learning arithmetic with the soroban (Japanese abacus).
The series moves onto the soroban beginning with the fourth episode.
